International Drug Policy Consortium The Beckley Foundation Drug Policy Programme aims to cast light on the current dilemmas facing policymakers at national and international level, as they seek to improve the effectiveness of global drug policies. The work of this initiative will be conducted within the context of a broad consortium of non-governmental organisations and professional networks, which share a commitment to the evidence-based development and refinement of policy in this field. It will be made up of a select group with credibility and technical expertise in the field of drug policy or practice. The influence of the reports produced by the BFDPP will be strengthened by the formation of this umbrella organisation. The following organisations make up the existing members of the consortium:
Australian Drug Foundation The overall purpose of the work of the Consortium is to produce evidence and analysis that assists policymakers in producing effective future policies and programmes; distribute these materials widely and promote discussion of their findings; and make specific recommendations to national governments and international agencies when official policy reviews are being conducted. |
