International Network for Drug Policy Analysis

There are a relatively small number of academic experts around the world who have produced credible work on the subject of drug policy evaluation. The Beckley Foundation Drug Policy Programme is establishing a network of such policy analysis experts to help develop a practical framework for evaluation that is academically credible, but also simple enough to be of use to policymakers and the general public. The INDPAs purpose is to:
- Provide a forum for those working on the development of methods and evidence for the evaluation of drug policy effectiveness, to exchange information, discuss their work, and collaborate where appropriate.
- Bring the available work in this field together to support the development of evaluation methodologies that can be used effectively by policymakers.
- Provide a channel of communication through which members of the forum can present their findings and perspectives to policymakers.

The inaugural Chair is Professor Peter Reuter of the University of Maryland, and the lead contact for the Beckley Foundation is Dr. David Bewley-Taylor of the University of Wales.
